Listen In: Pivot Points Podcast with Chris Payne

My most favorite group on campus is the Armed Forces Group (AFG), of which I claim to be an honorary member. Over the past year and a half I have developed a new understanding and appreciation for those that have served simply by being in the presence of veterans my age really for the first time in my life. Now, having many friends that have served domestically and overseas in various capacities and tours, my view of the world are constantly being enlightened and changed.

I am so honored to be the first non-veteran guest of Pivot Points, a podcast created by my classmate, veteran (A Special Forces Green Beret to be exact) and dear friend Chris Payne. For first time listeners, Pivot Points is a podcast focused on decision making. From Chris himself:

Hi, I’m Chris Payne. I’m a 10 year military veteran who served in the Infantry and Army Special Forces. I now attend the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Through all my different experiences, I recognize that both luck and decision-making play critical roles in the paths we take. I’m fascinated by learning about those around me and hope you’ll join me as I explore other people’s stories. Whether you’re considering serving, are currently serving, are a veteran like me, or are also just interested in learning more about my guests and the pivotal decisions in their lives, I’m happy to have you here. Looking forward to having you along for the ride.

Chris, thank you for choosing me to share my story and help me explain and walk through some of the pivotal decisions that have guided my life thus far. It’s a conversation that I won’t soon forget and one that I hope listeners will be able to sift a few gems out of. You can read about the genesis of Pivot Points and learn a bit about Chris’ life of service here.

Happy Listening!
