I was pretty hesitant to write a piece for Black History Month, because there is so much to talk about. In fact, there are endless topics to discuss, debate and ideate around. Whenever I write an OpEd piece or something for Booth, I always try to put my views in a business school or leadership context so that all of my readers can relate.
So, as you read this short piece, please keep in mind that it comes from the heart and that it is my reality. I hope that it shifts your perspective, even if it’s just a little, on what it is like for someone that looks like me to be in the position that I find myself in and helps you understand why I strive for greatness every day.
